Passiflora, in the family Passifloraceae The fruit is called Liliquoi in Hawai'i. It's round, small, and has a tough rind, smooth, and waxy, ranging in hue from dark-purple with faint, fine white specks, to light-yellow or pumpkin-color. It's filled with an aromatic mass of orange-colored, pulpy juice and hundreds of edible small, hard, dark-brown or black, pitted seeds. The flavor is appealing, musky, guava-like, subacid to acid.
