Waikiki, Hawai'iOahu is the third largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago and for almost 150 years has been the political, economic and cultural center of the Hawaiian islands.

Oahu evolved from two volcanoes which still exist today in the mountain ranges, Koolau Range and Waianae Range. The older of the two, Waianae Range, evolved between about 3.4 and 2.7 million years ago. Oahu is noted for its tuffs which evolved during the last phase of the volcanic creation of the island (Diamond Head, Punchbowl,
Chinaman's Hat, Rabbit Island).

Photos of Aloha > Intact Vintage Green Sea Glass Floats
are extremely rare find, an ultimate find for a dedicated beachcomber.

This one was found washed up on a remote Pacific Island beach by a wonderful young woman who helps save our Oceans by untangling and removing discarded, harmful fishing nets from coral reefs. She generously gifted this Sea Glass Ball to me.

Over a lifetime this glass ball may have floated across the Bering Sea from Asia, and into the Pacific Ocean.

They were once used by fishermen in many parts of the world to keep their nets afloat.

Large groups of fishnets strung together, sometimes 50 miles long, were set adrift in the ocean and supported near the surface by hollow glass balls or cylinders containing air to give them buoyancy.
