Kailua Beach Park
Kailua Bay is nestled against a two-mile strip of white sand bordered by rocky points. Mokapu Peninsula is to the north and Waimanalo Bay to the south. Oneawa Beach, Kailua Beach and Kailua Beach Park, a 30-acre park with a large lawn area, shade trees and a wide sand beach are the beaches in the bay. Offshore are "Na Mokulua" bird sanctuaries, commonly known as the "Twin Islands" - larger Moku Nui and tiny Moku Iki.
Enjoy a quiet stroll along the softwhite sand, or enjoy a day of windsurfing, Kayaking and swimming in the beautiful waters protected by an off-shore coral reef.
Kaelepulu Canal flows through the pond, dividing the beach park. Just offshore of Lanikia Pt. is Popoia 'Flat' Island, a seabird sanctuary. Mauka of the beach is the Ko'olau Mountain Range that runs down the eastern side of Oahu
